Nestled between the majestic Western Ghats and the shimmering Arabian Sea lies Konkan, a vibrant coastal stretch teeming with life. Lush rainforests cloak towering mountains, while pristine beaches dance with turquoise waves. This tapestry of ecosystems – from thick forests, high mountains, stretches of coasts, evergreen mangroves, vast lateritic plateaus, streams and rivers, to sacred groves – shelters a wealth of biodiversity. Countless species – many of whom have been known to be Vulnerable, Endangered and Threatened as per IUCN – call Konkan home. This pristine haven beckons us to be its guardians, to preserve this natural bounty for generations to come.
